The Yuletide season is about a great many things, such as the chance to get together with family and friends, exchange gifts, and celebrate life. However, another thing that we tend to widely associate Christmas with, is the creation of all manner of head-turning retail and window displays.

With all that in mind, we thought that here at Prizma Graphics, we would draw attention to the broad range of window graphics media that may be especially relevant for you at this time of year.

Make sure you select the most suitable media for your printer and requirements!

Whether you are reading this as a business in the print service sector that may be seeing heightened demand for window stickers running to the Christmas period, or perhaps a decision-maker in an in-house print department for a major retailer or supermarket brand, we can match you to the right window graphics media for your needs.

The principle of how such media is used is simple; you print in reverse onto it, and stick it onto the inside of a window to produce graphics and images that are visible through the glass.

However, while some of our customers who are on the lookout for window graphics media have a need for a product that is suitable for an inkjet printer, others may be seeking media for latex and solvent printing.

With that variety of needs in mind, below, we have outlined some of the options presently available in the Prizma Graphics store that could be of interest to you.

What window graphics media do we have in stock for inkjet printers?

If it is graphics media for use with an inkjet printer that you are specifically looking for, we would advise you to search our online store for the “CJOCSAF” product code.

When you do, you will find optically clear self-adhesive inkjet film, available in both 24” 610mm and 42” 1067mm widths on 20-metre-long rolls with a 2” core. This 80-micron gloss polyester film is ultra clear, which makes it an ideal choice for not only window displays and advertising, but also the likes of signs, labels, and packaging mock-ups.

This film, which can be used with any wide-format dye and pigment inkjet printer, incorporates an optically clear, semi-permanent removable glue and paper liner, as well as a unique MaxColour coating. So, you will be able to have faith in this media’s ability to cope with heavy ink loads – just the thing when you intend to create brilliant colour prints for window displays.

You can apply this film to such non-printable smooth surfaces as aluminium, wood, and glass, and we would further recommend that you protect your prints by cold laminating them to be waterproof. This will create a powerful combination for truly great-looking and durable window displays.

But we also make available excellent options for latex and solvent printers

When it comes to window graphics media that lends itself to latex and solvent printing, we can present quite a few high-quality and cost-effective options in our store.

One of those is the removable optically clear window film, supplied on a 3” core, that can be discovered on our site under the “SSCCW” product code. A polyester film incorporating a removable optically clear glue, it is suitable for eco, solvent, latex and UV curable inks, and the user can apply it wet or dry.

The window graphics printed on this media will look great whether viewed from inside or outside the given premises, and the media is water and scratch resistant. It will also not leave behind any residue when the time comes to remove it.

Those looking in our store under the “SSCCG150” product code, meanwhile, will find a static clear cling film on a 3” core, that is produced with window graphics applications specifically in mind. Again, it is suitable for eco, solvent, latex, and UV curable inks, provides impressive results whether the window graphics are viewed inside or outside a building, and doesn’t leave any residue when removed. It is also easy to reuse this media when required.

Finally, while we are on the subject of static cling film for indoor window displays, it is also worth highlighting the SSWCG white cling film that we can provide in 1372mm x 50m dimensions, again on a 3” core. Compatible with solvent, eco, latex, and UV curable ink, it is a film that has a short drying time, and which is straightforward to remove and reuse.

It should be noted about the SSWCG white cling film that while it will allow light to pass through, it will block visibility through the window. Nonetheless, many users will appreciate the fact that this film can be printed in reverse, and applied to the inside of a window using the static cling.

Would you appreciate further advice on your options for window graphics media?

With such a broad range of possibilities to choose from – whether your intended use of the media will involve a solvent, latex, or inkjet printer – you might understandably be unsure as to which option would be the best choice for you.

If this is the case for you, please feel free to contact the Prizma Graphics team – whether by phone or email – for further advice and guidance.
