When strength, rigidity, and surface performance matter, not all foamboards are created equal. Ryno Board® is a high density foamboard designed specifically for applications where standard foamboard simply does not offer enough structural integrity, particularly once mounted, laminated, or cut at speed.

Manufactured as an extruded high density polystyrene foamboard, Ryno Board® combines a rigid 5mm core with double thick clay coated bright white liners. The result is a board that delivers noticeably improved resistance to crushing, denting, and warping, even in demanding production environments.

Rigidity that holds its shape

One of the defining characteristics of Ryno Board® is its rigidity. Compared with standard foamboard, it maintains its flatness far more reliably, which makes a real difference for signage, display graphics, and mounted prints where presentation quality depends on the board staying true over time.

The high compressive strength of the core, combined with the reinforced liners, allows Ryno Board® to perform consistently during handling, finishing, and installation. This stability is particularly valuable for larger panels such as 40" x 60", A0, and A1 sheets, as well as framed work and applications where edge integrity and long term appearance matter.

Clay coated liners for print and finishing performance

Ryno Board® uses smooth, moisture resistant clay coated liners that support excellent ink coverage and strong colour reproduction across a range of print technologies. The bright white surface helps maintain colour clarity and gloss, making it well suited to indoor direct digital printing and screen printing.

For mounting and laminating, the clay coating plays an equally important role. It acts as a barrier that limits adhesive absorption, helping to improve bond consistency while also speeding up mounting and laminating on roll laminators. This can be especially beneficial in production settings where efficiency and repeatability are essential.

Designed for cutting accuracy

Ryno Board® is widely used on Zund and similar digital cutting tables, where its density and structure support clean, accurate cutting with reduced edge deformation. The board’s resistance to crushing helps maintain precise cut lines, even on intricate shapes or repeated runs, making it a reliable choice for finished signage, displays, and graphic components.

A versatile board for professional applications

Ryno Board® is suitable for a wide range of indoor uses, including signage and display, mounting and framing, vinyl graphics, exhibition work, sets and props, and general graphic presentation. Where a stronger, more durable foamboard is required, it offers a clear step up from standard options without moving into heavier rigid substrates.

At Prizma Graphics, we supply Ryno Board® to customers who need confidence in both print performance and structural stability. If you would like advice on suitability, sheet sizes, or how it compares with other boards in your workflow, contact us and our team will be happy to help you choose the right material for your application.
