Minimise your organisation’s carbon impact with Canon’s Red Label Zero FSC paper

To say that many organisations and individuals alike are highly conscientious about the CO2 impact of their activities would be quite the understatement. And they very well should be; the climate crisis is exactly that, with all manner of environmental challenges making it all the more crucial for the most sustainable solutions to be found for every aspect of a given business’s operations.
The situation is no different when it comes to the need to source wide-format printing paper. The pulp and paper industry has made significant progress over the decades in its efforts to help protect the only planet Earth we have, including achieving a total carbon emissions reduction – both direct and indirect – of 53% per ton of product between 1990 and 2021.
But every organisation, of course, has to play its part by driving down its own carbon footprint to the greatest extent possible, including businesses in such sectors as architecture, engineering, manufacturing, and construction.
With all that in mind, why should the next wide-format printing paper you invest in for your company, be Canon’s Red Label Zero FSC product?
Red Label Zero FSC: helping firms to achieve their carbon reduction targets
Over the next few weeks here at Prizma Graphics, we will be phasing in supplies of Canon’s new Red Label Zero FSC wide-format printing paper, to replace stocks of the old, non-carbon-neutral Red Label paper. This will greatly help our customers of a wide range of circumstances and needs to obtain the genuinely sustainable media that will, in turn, help optimise the environmental friendliness of their own operations.
So, what makes Canon’s Red Label Zero FSC paper so special? There are quite a few reasons; it is a 75gsm paper on a three-inch core, and available in various widths ranging from 297mm to 1067mm.
However, of particular significance is the fact that this wide-format printing paper is effectively carbon neutral, courtesy of energy-efficient production at first-class paper mills, and a highly optimised distribution chain.
Even a very optimised process does still leave some CO2 emissions. However, these are offset by Canon’s close cooperation with ClimatePartner, whereby Canon invests in ClimatePartner projects bearing the Gold Standard label. Those projects are aimed towards helping to reduce global CO2 emissions, encompassing the likes of small local initiatives, as well as major investments in hydropower plants.
Such investments as part of Canon’s relationship with ClimatePartner mean the CO2 emissions in the chain are able to be completely offset, with the net emissions being lowered to zero.
The end result is a carbon neutral, European Union (EU) Ecolabel certified, and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper that represents an excellent choice for architectural, engineering, construction, and manufacturing designs.
