For all manner of individuals and organisations that are on the lookout for a sophisticated new large-format inkjet printer, Canon’s offerings may be gaining in attractiveness all the time.

Indeed, it has recently emerged that no fewer than seven Canon products have been handed a 2023 iF Design Award, in acknowledgement of the company’s design excellence.

Of those awards, one of them was given to the only very recently launched Canon ImagePROGRAF TC series of large-format printers.

So, what is it about these devices – including the TC-20 and TC-20M, the latter incorporating an A4 flatbed scanner – that makes them so relevant and potentially useful to those in the market for a new large-format inkjet printer?

Cost-effective, professional, and sustainable print results are possible with the TC-20 and TC-20M

Before we delve further into the specifications of these highly regarded Canon printers, it is probably worth us touching on what, exactly, the iF Design Awards are.

In short, the iF Design Awards are among the most prestigious awards in the entire design field today. This year saw more than 10,000 entries into the awards from 56 countries and regions. Those entries were subject to the tough judgement of design experts encompassing the nine disciplines of product, packaging, communication, interior architecture, professional concept, service design, architecture, user experience, and user interface.

So, with some seriously renowned people applying such exacting scrutiny to the entries, it is fair to say the winners have been put to as strong a test as any.

With all that in mind, we aren’t surprised here at Prizma Graphics to learn that the TC series has been so honoured. After all, even the “standard” 24” A1 TC-20 is an impressively simple-to-use, functional, and sustainable desktop compact printer, with the ability to produce professional-quality prints. That’s a combination of strengths that makes it well-suited to use in small offices, retail shops, educational settings, and even at home for work purposes.

So, when you require a large-format inkjet printer that doesn’t merely print excellent-quality CAD documents, drawings, and posters, but also has a small footprint to save space, and such convenient functionality as easy paper setting and hybrid support, you could scarcely hope to make a better choice of device than the TC-20.

The same sentiments can be extended to the TC-20M, which adds a 1200 x 2400 dpi A4 flatbed scanner to an already formidable feature set. Like the TC-20, the TC-20M uses four-colour pigment ink, and the dimensions of the two printer variants are identical, at 968 x 525 x 245mm.

They are also both EPEAT Gold rated devices, with their low energy consumption and use of easily recyclable plastic 70ml ink bottles affirming that these are highly sustainable printers in tune with the sensibilities and priorities of the 2020s.
