Plotter paper to fit the new HP DesignJet T130 A1 printer

Choosing the right wide format inkjet printer for your requirements is not always a straightforward task. Given the vast array of wide format printers available on the market, each with different application advantages, and that inkjet technology is constantly evolving, adds to the complexity of making the right decision.

Here at Prizma Graphics we make it our purpose to simplify this process for you so that you can be confident in matching your design requirements with the right printer.

Take for example the new HP DesignJet T130 A1 printer launched in May this year to replace the HP DesignJet T120. With all the features of its predecessor, this new model now almost doubles its output capacity with up to 70 A1 prints per hour compared with the HP T120 print capacity of 40 A1 prints per hour. So for those who thought this single roll feed printer that will take roll widths from 297mm to 610mm in paper weights up to 280gsm, plus the A3/A4 cut sheet tray for paper weights up to 220gsm, was not worth considering, it may be time to think again.

Here is a low cost printer that will fit neatly on a desk or sit unimposingly on a stand that now has volume output capacity to match its rivals along with the standard HP technical features including WiFi network connection, 256 Mb processing memory plus the added bonus of a two year guarantee. With the HP Smart app allowing you to print using your smart phone, all you need to do is plug in and go. When you consider the versatility of this easy to use, compact printer, you may find it provides you with more print diversity than you thought possible.

So just what print quality can you expect from this three colour - cyan, magenta and yellow - plus pigment black printer?

To enable you to answer this question, we have put together an easy to follow list of papers that will enable you to see the true print output versatility available to you when you purchase this printer.

For monochrome and line colour prints

Our uncoated 80gsm plotter paper is available in longer 50m length rolls and provides excellent value for money for wide format black and white and line colour prints with sharp line definition. For a more durable, heavier weight paper, our bright white, smooth 90gsm paper will accept higher inkloads without cockling, enhancing your professional image.

For presentation prints and maps

To achieve sharp lines and solid, vivid colours with superb contrast, a coated paper is required to accept the necessary higher ink output. Our premium quality coated plotter papers in 100gsm and 120gsm weights are especially created with this in mind and boast a smooth, beautifully finished coating that can cope with heavier inkloads that will dry fast for pristine results, adding quality to your presentation prints.

For tracing and overlays

Our 112gsm inkjet tracing paper, available in 610mm rolls and cut sheet sizes A2 to A4, provides the ideal solution for final CAD drawings and overlays due to its excellent transparency and lay flat qualities. This high quality tracing paper guarantees good archiving qualities, being a chlorine free paper made from sustainable spruce with 20% recycled fibres, keeping your inkjet tracing paper prints in good condition.

For posters and photographic quality prints

This multi-tasking printer will allow you to create full colour presentations, posters and photographic quality prints. Our Matt Coated Inkjet Poster Paper 165gsm has been specially formulated with a non-reflective matt coating for high quality prints with excellent line definition and low show through on the reverse for stunning prints that are guaranteed to stay flat.

For a more durable, heavier weight paper, our premium quality 180gsm will enhance the quality of your prints with exceptionally dense blacks and vibrant colours.

For photographic quality prints with a non-reflective matt finish, our 170gsm Photo Realistic Inkjet Paper is a smooth, premium quality paper that is stabilised for a ‘no curl’ reverse side and no cockling with high ink loads. For a luxurious finish, our Photo Satin Instant Dry Inkjet Paper in a 200gsm weight is the perfect choice for superb full colour graphics that dry instantly without smudging.

For fine art prints

Our Canvas Textured Paper in a 230gsm weight is a high quality fine art paper possessing a structure similar to traditional canvas making it a perfect choice for fine art and photographic prints. The special ink coating ensures excellent ink performance and the 30m roll length supports high volume printing with less time consuming roll changes. This paper is available in 432mm and 610mm roll widths along with A3 plus, A3 and A4 cut sheets.
