Artists Heather Landor and Simon Harlow (www.waspsstudios.org.uk) share a common interest in materials, form, space and architecture as well as curiosity in how things work.
Materialia is an ambitious video installation and sculptural eruption presented during April in the interior of the Briggait's vast 1873 Hall, The Briggait, 141 Bridgegate, Glasgow, G1 5HZ.
Once darkness begins to descend the structure, created using Prizma Diacel Clear Acetate, wakes up and comes alive. Materialia draws the audience into a beautiful and magical experience creating a sense of disorientation and a detachment from the world outside.
Less dramatic, but often essential, uses for Prizma Diacel Clear Acetate film are overlays, overhead projection work, animation and protective covering for artwork and displays. The film can be drawn on with chinagraph pencils, OHP markers and wax type drawing aids. It is available in roll widths 610mm & 1220mm and three weights - 75, 115 & 250 microns.
