The Canon TA-20 and TA-30 – all the benefits of higher-volume printers at an entry-level price

When someone says the term “entry-level” to you, what kind of thing immediately comes to your mind? A lot of people may, at least at first, think of “entry-level” referring to products of a clearly “lesser” specification, productivity, and performance – but that’s the very last thing you can expect from Canon’s own entry-level TA-20 and TA-30 poster and CAD printers.

The Canon ImagePROGRAF TA-20 and TA-30 – the former a 24” A1 printer, and the latter a 36” A0 machine – are both highly affordable and versatile devices for the production of CAD drawings, posters, presentation prints, and short-term banners.

Invest in either of these Canon CAD printers for your low-volume printing requirements, and you can have the assurance of a machine that will be indispensable in your office, combining a compact design with quiet operation, accurate ink placement, and the utmost productivity.

Indeed, the TA-20 and TA-30 are both capable of delivering an A1 print in just 32 seconds, which works out as an impressive 56.3 square metres per hour. And with the inks that these printers use being pigment inks, the user can also depend on them being water-resistant.

Make sure you ally the right low-volume printer to the right media

There’s so much more to both the TA-20 and TA-30 than the above, signalling that they really are superb options if you are on the lookout for an entry-level, low-volume printer that delivers the benefits you would otherwise associate with a higher-volume printer.

In common with every device in the Canon ImagePROGRAF line-up, for example, the TA-20 and TA-30 poster and CAD printers are able to print edge-to-edge on a very wide range of papers, thereby giving you confidence of always benefitting from rapidly produced, high-quality prints.

Something else you might not have known about the TA-20 and TA-30, is that they are able to take 75gsm, 175-metre-long rolls that don’t cost as much per metre as shorter media rolls, and enable you to achieve heightened productivity through longer runs between roll changes. That’s great for saving you both time and money, while allowing for unattended printing.

With regard to the exact media you might choose for your TA-20 or TA-30, we are happy here at Prizma Graphics to recommend PP80 A1 594mm x 175m plain printer paper in the case of the TA-20, and PP80 A0 841mm x 175m paper if you own the TA-30.

These 175-metre-long printer paper rolls also don’t require as much storage space, and are standard A0 (TA-30) and A1 (TA-20) widths, so there’s no need for trimming.

We do offer alternative paper rolls for these printers, in the form of the DJR80 A1 610mm x 50m uncoated inkjet plotter paper for the TA-20, and the equivalent DJR80 A0 841mm x 50m paper that can be used with the TA-30.

However, with the 175m rolls being standard size for plain paper copiers and digital printers for high-volume printing, you can probably see the advantage of having an entry-level printer at a low cost, capable of taking 175m rolls for volume and unattended printing.

Allow us to guide you to the right printing solutions – whatever your exact needs

There are big differences, of course, between the requirements and expectations of a low-volume user and a bustling production house – but whatever your own needs may be from a large-format printer, you should rightly expect impeccable standards.

Those are the standards that our team here at Prizma Graphics can help you to reach, by assisting you with the selection of the right printer and media for your intended applications. Simply enquire to us now, via phone or email, for further support and advice.
